Why Tech Tasters
Why focus on one skill at a time?
Most ski lessons try to improve everything at once. A Tech Taster does the opposite: one discipline, a whole session, more repetitions and clearer feedback. It is the fastest way to break through a plateau and find a new challenge on the slopes of Grimentz-Zinal.
A typical session
- Warm-up and assessment. Your instructor watches you ski and agrees clear, realistic goals with you.
- Key drills. Simple exercises that isolate the skill, repeated until they start to feel natural.
- Put it together. Longer runs on the right terrain, with feedback after every descent.
- Take it home. A short summary of what to practise next and, when you book three sessions or more, a personalised video edit.

Tech Tasters are short, focused sessions for skiers who are ready for something new. Instead of a general lesson, your instructor builds the whole session around one discipline: the drills, the terrain and the feedback. Book them privately or as a small group, and mix and match during your stay in the Val d’Anniviers.

Start the week with a private lesson, then add a different workshop each day. Families often book one for the teenagers while the adults have their own lesson. Tell us your goals and we will suggest the right mix.

The right terrain for every skill
Every workshop uses the slopes that suit it best on the day: the long groomed runs from Bendolla and Sorebois for carving and racing, steeper pitches for the bumps, the snow park for freestyle and the snow just off the piste for your first powder turns.
With the cable car linking Grimentz and Zinal, your instructor can move between both sides of the ski area to find the best snow and the quietest slopes.

Tech Tasters FAQ
Do I need to be an advanced skier?
You should be comfortable skiing red runs in control. You do not need any experience in the discipline itself: that is what the workshop is for. For Intro to Off-Piste you should also ski black runs confidently.
Private or small group?
Both. Book privately for the most feedback per run, or as a group of up to five people with a similar level. It is a great way for friends and families to try something new together.
How long is a session and when does it start?
Every Tech Taster is a 3-hour session. Morning sessions start by 10:30 and afternoon sessions between 13:00 and 13:30. Early starts give you the best snow and the quietest slopes.
Where do we meet?
We confirm the meeting point when you book. Usually we meet at the top of the Bendolla cable car in Grimentz, but we can also meet you in Zinal or elsewhere on the mountain. Your instructor contacts you the day before to confirm the time and place.
Which workshop improves my skiing the most?
The Carving Masterclass has the biggest impact on everyday skiing, because better edging and balance help on every run. If you already carve well, Mogul Madness or Intro to Ski Racing are the best next steps.
Can snowboarders join?
Tech Tasters are designed for skiers, and we do not teach snowboard lessons in Grimentz-Zinal. If you need a snowboard instructor, ask us and we will help you find one.
What equipment do I need?
Your normal skis are fine for most workshops. Twin-tips help for freestyle and wider skis make powder easier. We recommend Valsport in Grimentz for rental. Helmets are compulsory for children under 16.
